Permission on hgfs folder... impossible to change.

Before anybody sends me to the previous posts... read carefully.

OS: opensuse 64 12.3

Latest version of VMplayer as of September 2013

Guest is opensuse 11.4: some high end CAD software does not run on 12.3

Problem

1.-Folders below hgfs have correct permissions users and group can read and write.

2.-But hgfs show owned by root and group is also root... so many high end CAD applications have problems no matter the lower folder are accessible.

3.-Even as root... it is impossible to change the permissions. File manage or command line....."You do not have the required permissions"

4.-The published recommendation of adding to fstab

.host:/             /mnt/hgfs           vmhgfs  defaults,ttl=5,uid=48 0 0

Just make the host crash during boot.... and goes in recovery mode... black command line of death.

Erasing the line on fstab makes the system boot again.....

Does anybody have a solution??

Is there any file in the vmware player configuration where you tell to mount hgfs with certain permission other that read only???

There is no option on the shared folder option for the virtual machine configuration.
