I had Player 6 installed in win 7 ultimate x64 host with a win 8 pro x64 client vm running basically fine for awhile. Then my laptop started having power/network related problems. I had to re-install the JMicron network driver a few times to get my wireless networking going. But then my pc kept showing the network system tray icon with no bars and a gold asterik. I was connected to the internet, but clicking the icon showed 2 networks connected with one being unidentified.
My pc vendor support via TeamViewer solved the problem by cleaning files/(else?) and removing the TWO VMWare network adapters that showed up in windows 7 host. Going back to run my vm it works, but of course there is now no network connection.
To try to solve this I tried to uninstall Player from add and remove programs, but just a blank VMWare dialog box displays and is stuck there. I killed the VMWare installer process then tried to re-install over VMPlayer with the original installer executable only to face the same result. I still have the Player and vm working, but still crippled.
Can anybody help unstick me and get networking in the vm again?
