Have installed Windows 8.1 but need to use a virtualisation solution like Vmware player or Virtualbox to run sandpit windows 7 desktops. Problem im having is each time i install te software and it installs the virtual network adapters (i.e. vmNet0, vmNet8 etc), the native Win 8.1 OS drops the physical Ethernet network adapter (Broadcom). You cant see it in device manager, cant scan hardware for it etc and even after re-installing the drivers the ONLY way to get it back is by uninstalling the virtualisation software
Any ideas? How come the two adapter types cant co-exist in 8.1, this worked merrily in 7/7.1?
