Is it the case that VMware Player disables (or otherwise disrupts) the Windows "Mouse Keys" feature?
I set up a new account on the Windows machine, turned on the "Mouse Keys" feature ("Start" > "Control Panel" > "Ease of Access Center" > "Make the mouse easier to use" > "Turn on Mouse Keys"). I then verified that pressing keys on the numeric keypad of my keyboard did indeed move the mouse as per this Microsoft webpage: <http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/use-mouse-keys-to-move-the-mouse-pointer>.
I then started VMware Player and ran a virtual machine in it. I noted that the "Mouse Keys" feature did not move the cursor inside the virtual machine. However, when I moved the mouse cursor outside the Player window (using the mouse), onto the Windows desktop, then keypresses on the numeric keypad no longer move the mouse cursor. Even after I quit Player, the "Mouse Keys" functionality is lost. Windows still shows that option is selected. (Turning the option off and then back on does not bring back the function.)
Am I missing something? How can I get back the "Mouse Keys" functionality and/or prevent Player from affecting it? (I was testing whether or not "Mouse Keys" would work inside the virtual machine.)
Details:
-----------
Windows 7 Enterprise (Version 6.1`)
VMware Player version 6.0.3-build-1895310
