Hi,
I have created a RHEL v6.4 64 Bit OS VM Image on my VMWare Workstation v8.0.1 build-528992 on my Windows 7 64 bit OS laptop (Box-1) and it runs fine when executed on the same laptop. See attached screenshot of my VMWare Workstation.
The VM was created with 2 virtual NIC card interfaces and the OS was installed using RHEL 6.4 64 bit iso image using a customized kick-start configuration script.
I have another Windows 2008 64 bit Server (Box-1) where I have installed VMPlayer 7 (using VMware-player-7.1.0-2496824.exe downloaded from VMWare web site).
I moved the RHEL VM image from my Box-1 (laptop) to my Box-2 (target Server) and started VMPlayer and opened the RHEL image.
Issue: VMPlayer complained stating that the VM image has been created with certain features that are not supported by VMPlayer. It did not give any further details.
Can anyone tell me how to diagnose the issue? What specific features of the VM image created from Workstation would have caused the VM image NOT to work in VMPlayer?
Also are VM Images created with Workstation v8.0.1 eligible to run on VMPlayer (installed with VMware-player-7.1.0-2496824.exe)?
regards,
Praveen
