I see that VMWare Player free version doesn't have the ability to create virtual machines, only run existing VMs, and that's what we want.
However, the free version is not licensed for business use.
If we purchase licensed copies of VMWare Player Pro 7, that introduces the unwanted feature of allowing the users to create new virtual machines.
We were planning on distributing restricted VMs for users to run under VMWare Player Pro, until we realized that the users would then be able to simply create their own unrestricted VMs locally.
Is there any way to prevent users from using VMWare Player Pro to create new VMs or is there another product for business use that does this?
What is the best way to allow users to run VMs locally on their workstations, but not edit the VMs or create new ones?
