Scheduling VM to power-down via command line

Hi,

I have a linux guest VM on a Windows 2003 server host running under VMware Player.

Is there a way to gracefully power down the linux guest on schedule by using the windows task planner for backup purposes?

Or is that a feature reserved for other VMware versions?
