bug when i reboot HOST

Good morning all ,
Here I have a concern about VMWARE PLAYER 16:
After installing VMWARE PLAYER 16 on my HOST WIN 10 pro x64 machine, created a GUEST virtual machine running WIN10 pro x64 too so that I can run 2 games simultaneously, I have a problem when I REBOOT my HOST PC.

Here are the explanations: I create my virtual machine with the VMWARE TOOLS drivers installed in order to be able to activate the 3D accelerator and be able to play on it.

Everything works flawlessly, no lag (60fps), I can restart the VMWARE PLAYER 16 software, restart the VM as well as the games and everything goes without any problems.
But, when I restart my HOST PC, I restart the software, the VM, the games running at 60 fps, after a few seconds the game slows down to about 5-10 fps and becomes unplayable without getting any error message.

Here is my HOST config as well as the GUEST:

HOST

Intel i7-8700K
16GB of 3200Mhz RAM
RTX 2080super 8Go OC rogg strixx
SSD and 1 M2 hard drives
OS: Win 10 pro x64

GUEST

Number of processor cores allocated: 3
Allocated RAM: 4 GB
GPU allocated: 2 GB
3d accelerator enabled
OS: WIN 10 pro x64
Allocated Disk Space: 60GB

Here are the manipulations I was able to perform:

Repair VMWARE PLAYER 16 via control panels: the problem persists
Repair VMWARE TOOLS: the problem persists
Uninstall VMWARE PLAYER 16 and reinstall it: the problem persists
Uninstall VMWARE TOOLS and reinstall it: the problem persists
Activate the 3d accelerator and reactivate it afterwards: the problem persists
Delete the VM and recreate it: the problem persists
Use another OS (WIN 7 PRO): the problem persists

I changed the settings in the VM : more processor cores , RAM , RAM GPU : the problem persists

I also configure my AVAST PRENIUM anti-virus, in the settings, there is a checkbox "activate hardware virtualization assistance" but the problem persists.

I was able to test VMWARE WORKSTATION PRO 16 before all this and I encountered the same problem when I restart my HOST PC

I think something is happening when I restart my HOST machine but I don't know what, does anyone have a solution?

I provided the .log as well as the .vmx

Unfortunately I do not have the LOG as well and the VMX when it worked because I did not know the software well. Sorry

I hope I have put in enough detail for a solution.

Thank you all and see you soon I hope

P.S.

sorry for the translation but I'm not very good in English and for the possible double post

I'm using vmware worstation 16 player (16.0.0 build-16894299) on a windows 10 pro (2004) machine.  I'm a complete newbe.  Please, how do you share files and folders between windows 10 and the linux-mint VM?

When I run vmware-hgfsclient I get the folders I had set up listed:

c

d

e

Desktop

but under  /mnt there is no hgfs folder. /mnt is empty.

Big problem with enahnced keyboard driver on Windows 7 host

After installing VMWare's enhanced keyboard driver on Windows 7 the host keyboard is no longer functional.

A workaround suggested in this post  does not work because when I click on the Properties key I am getting error "Error opening key - Access is denied".

When I run RegEdit as Administrator I observe same symptoms. Permissions for Properties fails to apply permissions with the same  "Access is denied"

Device Manager lists two failed HID devices of USB keyboard type corresponding to my keyboard and mouse (the latter has extra keys).

Device status says "its configuration in the registry is incomplete or damaged"

Rebooting with last known good configuration has not fixed the issue.

I suspect that uninstalling the VMWare's enhanced keyboard driver will not solve the broken registry problem.

How do I get my keyboard working?

HD resolution full screen guest on UHD resolution host - possible?

Hi,

I have a laptop with UHD screen - native resolution 3840 x 2160.

Host is Win10 x64 Pro, guest is Win7 x64 Pro.

Inside the guest I have software that can't be used on high-resolution screens (Siemens TIA Portal).
So I need the guest to have HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, but to keep the native 3840 x 2160 resolution of the host.

Is that possible?

If I reduce the host resolution to 1920 x 1080 , the guest looks OK - but the host does not.
If I keep the host at 3840 x 2160, and reduce the guest resolution to 1920 x 1080 - the guest becomes small, takes only 1/4 of the screen.

So is it somehow possible to keep the high resolution for the host and see the guest in full screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution?

Thanks

Hello.

Problems began to arise with the Workstation player, starting with version 15.5.0 - the Player shell periodically stopped running.

updated, rebooted and the player itself is visible in the processes and consumes about 25% of the CPU and there is no more reaction on the screen. Uninstalling and reinstalling gives nothing. Tried to erase C: \ programdata \ vmware. I tried to rename the container folders with the machines. Tried to roll back updates.

Any ideas?

'Good girl. Now put your hand in there.' He guided it inside the jeans, with her fingers resting midway on her panties. She kept her hand there but looked up at him, half aghast, half entranced.

He looked expectantly at her. She knew what she was meant to do, but it took her a few seconds. Then, slowly, she began rubbing gently against her panties. Her face looked small and her eyes soft. He smiled as though everything was now in its place and sat down again on the sofa.

'Good girl. Now start again. Tell me exactly what happened.'

She opened her mouth, continuing to rub compulsively, and began the story again. 'Well... we were talking together, and sitting... and you - you...' She looked at him, distracted. He was clearly enjoying the spectacle before him. She'd got into a rhythm now with her hand and couldn't seem to stop. 'You lifted up my skirt, and you moved your hand up my leg and... ' Her voice was small. '...under my panties. And you wouldn't stop probing. You had me up against the wall, and you were so much stronger than I am - than I was.'

She looked at him again. He smiled at her, and she instinctively gave a short little smile back, before looking all over the place again, that odd little expression on her face. She carried on rubbing.

'And then you took me for the first time. You - took me so many times.' She wondered whether he noticed that her rubbing had intensified. 'You had me up against the wall... And even that first time, I could tell that you knew that you could just keep using me. That I wouldn't tell anyone. That I would keep coming to you to be... And it felt so - you made me feel so... I felt so dirty, I knew I had to keep coming back, I wasn't good for anything else. I wanted it. I wanted your - your cock. In my throat. Inside me.'

She looked desperate. She stopped rubbing. He looked at her.

'Shhhh. It's okay, keep going.'

https://freeadultpornlist.com/category/big-tits-porn-tube-sites/

Her eyes widened, but she felt her hand betraying her, going back down to obey him. Rubbing herself as she recounted this felt so right. Once he'd told her to do it, she couldn't help it.

He looked so gentle, and amused but touched. He understood. Anger and shame permeated her face but made her hands work even faster.

'You used me. You didn't care what I felt, I know you didn't even see me as a person really. You wanted to mould me, to be someone you could use and keep using over and over till I had no will of my own, till all I wanted was to make you happy, satisfied. You took me again and again, my mouth, my pussy and - ' She saw his eyes light up even more. She blushed.

He looked at her happily, unable to fully believe his eyes. What a sweet thing.

'You wouldn't stop. You put your tongue all the way down my mouth, not because - because' she trembled 'you wanted to kiss me, but because you wanted to fill me up, to not have any orifice that didn't have you inside. You were always there.'

He had already got up, and was moving closer towards her. 'Come with me' he said. 'Come over here'. He took her by the hand and led her to his desk. Then, breathing heavily, he pulled down her jeans and panties, leaving her ass exposed to the air and her pussy shuddering inwards.

'There.' She could hear the smile in his voice. What had she got into? But it was much too late to think about that now. 'Put your hands here', he showed her, putting one of her hands palm down on the desk and the other on her pussy. 'That's right. Now you can start humping the desk. And keep talking.'

The desk was hard and a couple of inches higher than the bottom of her pussy, so that she had to stand on tip-toes to fully reach it. It was humiliating. Somehow even more humiliating than before. She humped up and down against the desk, at first gently, then obsessively. She could almost feel him, even with the air between them, as he stood there behind her, watching her ass hover up and down, in and out.

'You raped me. It was - humiliating. You would come - and then - you would be all over me, your hands wherever you wanted. Your cock wherever you wanted, like I was just some... some thing.'

'Yes?' he said.

She ignored him. 'I hated you. You made me feel like I was nothing, but when I was with you... You... You had me so...' She heard a shuffle and then a squeeze of plastic behind her.

'I even - I even...' She was humping so forcefully now. '...started to like you.' Her voice was small. 'And you made me feel grateful that you'd ever even look at me. That you'd touch me. I didn't deserve to have you inside me. It was like...'

'Shhhhh.' He moved closer, his hand on her ass, his breath quick. His fingers were thick and wet with lube, and they circled her anus for a surprisingly intimate moment.

'It was like...' she carried on, with a very quiet voice, his hand still on her ass. '...I was...'

She paused. '...your slave.'

That last word made him grunt and plunge himself into her, all at once. His cock, feeling massive and full, even bigger than she'd remembered it, was deep inside her ass with no warning and no condom. His hands were under her top, pulling and tearing at her breasts, but somehow also on her lower arms, forcing her to keep humping. She could feel his hot, harsh breath on her neck and she felt like crying as well as screaming with pleasure. He had all his weight on her, forcing her pussy deep into her hands on the desk, and searing his cock into her ass. What did she expect?

She writhed. 'Keep talking', he said into her ear. 'Go on. Go on.' His lips were wet with sticky sounds and hoarse breathing and they crackled in her eardrum, as his mouth lingered there possessively.

'I was your slave.' She said simply. 'You - oh fuck.'

'Shhh. Don't swear.'

'Sorry.' She sounded genuinely ashamed, despite the incongruity of his request. 'You - you owned me.' He was fucking her now with agitated, shallow movements. 'You came for me and I - knew I had to give myself to you. Completely. You owned me' she repeated. 'You helped me realise that the best thing I could do was please you. My feelings didn't matter.'

Clipboard sharing doesn't work in VMware Player 4 Unity mode

I'm using a Win7 host with Ubuntu 11.04 guest and clipboard sharing works fine when I'm running VMWare windowed but not when it's in Unity mode. I have to drop out of Unity to get text copied in the guest to share with the host and vice versa. This was not a problem in 3.1 and I have replicated it in 4 on two separate machines.

How to Fix VT-X Is Not Available Error on Windows 10?

$

I went through many forums and discussions to find solutions for fixing the VT-X Is Not Available error on Windows 10 computer. And, then landed on this page  - Fix VT-X Is Not Available Error.

And it really helped me to fix the error on my computer. So, these are the methods that are given in this guide:

  • Disable the Hyper-V Virtualization
  • Disable the Core Isolation of Windows Defender
  • Enable Avast's Nested Virtualization Feature
  • Uninstall 3rd Party Antivirus Tool From Your Computer
  • Enable the VT-X in BIOS Settings

In my case, the last solution did work to fix the error. I hope this will help the users going through this error.

Workstation Player 16 not booting GNS3 VM (Hyper-V/CG issue)

$

Good morning,

I had a GNS3 VM running on VMWare Workstation Player 16 (build-16894299) and last week it was working and this is not. My Guest OS is Windows 10 Enterprise (1909). I got the error of incompatibility with Hyper-V/Credential Guard, even when I have both disabled (Group policies changed, hypervisorlanchtype off and disabled from Windows features). Does anyone know what is happening? Is the 1909 Windows version not compatible anymore?

Thanks in advance. Regards,

Javier

When sharing a PowerPoint file (not the screen or the PowerPoint window, the file sharing functionality), each slide will show for a moment when changing page and then disappears leaving the screen as black. I have tested both when sharing starts from another user or when I am sharing the content from my VM. All the other functionalities (webcam display, screen sharing, etc.) work correctly. I don't have any other issues with the other programs I have tested up to now (mainly Office and web browsing).

If a run with the same OS configuration, but with a VM directly on Hyper-V, everything works correctly, both with the advanced session connection and RDP.

I am not sure if this is an issue with Microsoft Teams or VMWare, but it seems anyway to be connected with the interaction of that SW with the display driver used by VMWare. The timings of the slide becoming black change, sometimes it starts to be black only in part of the slide. Seems an issue related to caching of the shown bitmap that gets lost somehow.

Does someone know any workaround to solve this issue?

Change resolution of framebuffer/TTY

Hello,

I use arch linux. I use vmware workstation player 15. I installed the vmware tools. In a desktop environement resizing works however in the default terminal before opening desktop (tty for example) the window is too small,

Whether in vmware's display options I set a fixed resolution (like 3000X2000) or I choose to have same resolutions in my guest than my host (windows 10, I have a 3000x2000) doesn't change anything the resolution reported by hwinfo --framebuffer are between 400x300 and 1152x864 none of them being big enough. I follow the guide https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GRUB/Tips_and_tricks set the framebuffer resolution and so i change the GRUB's config file GRUB_GFXMODE to the max resolution I of the hwinfo --framebuffer list I do the reload of the config with grub-mkconfig and reboot but still the framebuffer's size is never changin.

So my tty terminal is like 1/30 of my screen (incredibly annoying on a 3000x2000 13 inches screen) even tho once again resizing a desktop env when I launch XORG works.

A couple questions with Upgrading

I have VMWare Workstation Workstation Player 16 installed and have been considering upgrading to Workstation 16 Pro. I can't seem to find these questions answered on the FAQ or anything on the page.

If I go to into the Workstation Player > Help > Upgrade to VMWare Workstation Pro I get 3 options. New, Upgrade From Workstation Pro or Player 14 or Greater, Upgrade from Workstation 16 Player. Whats the difference and which one should I get? Im using Player 16 the Free version as it's just for personal use. Which one

Second question is how long does this license last and what happens to my license if/when they move to version 17?

I have a Logitech USB webcam, and I'm trying to get it to work on a macOS Big Sur guest. It connects successfully to the VM, and when I open an app that  us the camera the light on the camera turns on, but the app on the guest says there is no video coming from the camera. Is there any fi for this? I have tried a different webcam to no success, and i have tried rebooting several times. Any help greatly appreciated.

VmPlayer: Win 10 Host + Ubuntu 20.04 Guest screen blinking

Hi everyone! I/m using VmWare Player 16 on Windows 10 host and Ubuntu 20.04 as a guest. When I moved my VMs to new laptop (Dell 5411 10850H + MX250 GPU) I faced annoying issue - My VM screen blinking, flickering or i don't know how to name it. i'll try to explain:

When I click it different part of windows it becomes lighter or darker, imagine that you plays with contrast very fast.

It doesn't depends on which monitor i used VM (external or internal).

OpenVM tools are installed.

Is there any iseas how to solve this issue. I had this VM on two laptops berfore, but only with UHD graphics, nothing like this happens.

Connect guest machine directly to modem and to LAN via dual NIC?

I have very little experience with VMs and networking but I feel like this should be possible but have no idea what I'm doing so thought I'd ask for some help or opinions.

I have a normal PC running windows 10 that I use as a home server (Plex, backups, Webserver, game servers, etc...) with VMware Player (free version).

The system currently has 3 Network adapters, an onboard NIC and a dual port NIC in PCI slot.

I also have the netgear CM1200 modem with 4 ports.

My desire is to connect a VM running on the system to my LAN and a separate direct connection to the internet via the PCI NIC.

Really, I want one NIC for the HOST only, One for guest LAN only and 3rd for guest internet only.

I managed the host and guest effectively using their own NIC to LAN but if I add the direct connection to the modem in anyway it seems to prevent all connectivity to the VM.

Some things,

Seeing as I didn't build the system for this, pretty sure I don't have the ability to do PCI passthough.

With the direct to modem connection added to VM, ipconfig shows irregular IPs (subnetmask 255.255.0.0) and no gateway.

ipconfig on host shows a proper connection on the direct to modem line.

Thanks for any ideas!

P.S. A recommendation to more appropriate forums is also welcome.

Option for "echo cancellation" missing in Linux Player 12.5.1

I'm running Player 12.5.1 on a Linux (Fedora 25) host and the option for echo cancellation does not show up in the Hardware/Sound panel when running a Windows 7 guest. According to the documentation, echo cancellation support was added to Workstation 12 & Player 12 and I should see a checkbox for it. I thought maybe it didn't work for this VM created with an older version of Player, or only worked on a newer version of Windows, but I started creation of a VM for Windows 10 (far enough to get to the 'customize hardware' option before it is actually created) and it still didn't show up.

Perhaps my host is incorrectly configured and that's why it doesn't show up? I did a pretty vanilla install of Fedora 25, and have a fairly generic Kaby Lake based laptop without any funky hardware. Any ideas?

Here is the output of lspci -vv for the sound card. Since it shows up as a 'device 9d71' maybe it isn't fully supported in Linux yet?

Connecting networks inside guest VM

$

Hi everybody,

I am a hardware engineer with good programming skills and intermediate networking knowledge in industrial environment (so it is Windows, Linux, PLC, embedded devices, virtual machines...) and came across an interesting issue which is driving me crazy since a few days.

I couldn't find info about it anywhere on the internet (this forum included), and also a lot of experimenting didn't bring any success.

I will describe my setup and the issues i have, maybe someone else has faced the same problem and can help (or maybe we can work together at it).

The host pc is a Win10 Pro machine and is quite restricted by domain policy.

One of the restrictions is that Internet Connection Sharing is disabled.

My company IT will not change it, they are really strict on that (also because it's not a work related issue).

My IoT device is Ethernet only and I can connect it to the Internet only through the laptop Ethernet (the hotel has only WiFi Internet in the rooms). WiFi for this device is not an option.

My VM is a VMware Player machine with 2 network adapters, since I already know that with multiple network connection it is necessary to avoid automatic bridging.

Therefore, I have removed my Ethernet and the WiFi adapters from VMnet0 and assigned them to VMNet3 and 2 respectively.

My VM has 2 network adapters, which I have connected to VMnet2 (direct bridging to host WiFi) and VMnet3 (direct bridging to host Eth port) respectively.

Guest operating system is Win10 Pro.

When I am able to connect the VM to Internet with direct bridging (VMNet2) I can enable ICS and everything works fine.

But when I am forced to use NAT, my device cannot connect to the Internet in any way.

I have tried to:

-disconnect, reconnect, enable, disable the connections in all possible sequences: no luck.

-use network bridging instead of ICS: no luck.

-restart VMware NAT and DHCP services: no luck.

-clear all routing / arp info: no luck.

-use of static or automatic IP addresses doesn't change anything.

AFAIK, the NAT/direct bridging of the host WiFi is 100% external to the VM, so why does it stop working when i (have to) use NAT?

IMHO this should work seamlessly also with NAT.

Conversely, when i try to use VMnet2 (direct bridging) I don't understand why the hotel router doesn't serve its connection request as it would do for a physical device.

I hope that a solution can be found. Thanks and regards,

Michael
