USB Scan drivers

I have a client that I set up with VM Ware Player on a new Win 8.1 host running XP Pro as client.

I am trying to configure a Canon MX450 scanner for use within the the VM Ware Player environment.

For the scanner a USB connection is required and is working.

I have scanner working on the Win 8 side and can successfully scan using Adobe Acrobat.

But, from the VM Player side no scanner shows up. Printing is working from WiFi.

The Canon driver suite includes a TWAIN driver and one other. Looks like the Twain driver is reserved for the Lenovo AIO because if selected it turns on the camera.

Any ideas?
