On resume from sleep, Player 5 often freezes

Host: Win7. Guest: Ubuntu 12.04. Player v. 5.

I was using Ubuntu in Player v4. Upgraded to 5. Reinstalled latest vmware-tools. I run Ubuntu (Gnome 2) in VMware's Unity mode. I put my laptop to sleep occasionally. On resume, Unity will not work. Instead, the Player window will be all black and unresponsive. I have to suspend the VM, then start it again to get my image working. Everything worked without fail in Player v4.

Do I need to install something in Linux to get it working smoothly with Player 5? I thought vmware-tools was enough.
