I have tried to find an answer to this on the forums, but could not find something to specifically address my questions.
I am using WMware Player on a Win7-32 Bit Host OS and trying to run a Win7-32bit Guest OS. My host system has an intel i5 processor with 4 GB of ram and I have tried different configurations of guest ram ranging from 2 to 3.5 GB. When I run the VM I find both OS systems run extremely slow. I have read the requirements of the software and it indicates 1 GB of ram, preferrably 2 GB, but my systems still seem to be extremely slow with 4 GB ram. My questions are as follows:
1) Are there other settings (host or guest) that I can make to speed up my system, both host and guest
2) Since Windows 7 - 32 bit only utilizes 4 GB of ram, if I increase my system ram beyond 4 GB will the guest utilize the extra ram, or does this Win7-32 bit limitation also limit the space in which the VM will operate? i.e. if I have 8 GB ram in the host computer, will the host Win7 use 4 GB of ram and the guest OS use the other 4 GB ram?
Thanks in advance
